I'm a biologist, graduated in Universidade Estadual do Sudoeste da Bahia, Brazil, at Vitória da Conquista, city were I was born. I got my masters degree at Universidade de Santa Cruz, Ilhéus, also in Bahia, and my PhD at Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, at Vitória, Espírito Santo state, Brazil. Most of this later period I spent at Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro at Seropédica, Brazil, with a period at Universitat de Lleida, Catalunya, Spain. ​

Beyond the scientific work related to behavior, biogeography and natural history of amphibians (which I love), I'm also an artist, with several works in digital painting, graphic design and animation.

I'm also the husband of Denise and father of four kids: Adelaide, Zuleide, Margareth and Pepe (my guitars).
